We moved to Las Vegas and spent the first few months convinced there was nothing to do here with kids. Every search turned up the same tourist lists — Strip hotels, mediocre buffets, things designed for people who were leaving in three days. We weren't leaving. We were staying. We were building a life here. And nobody seemed to be talking to us.

Turns out, we were just looking in the wrong places.

The real Las Vegas — the valley where 2.2 million people actually live — is something else entirely. It's hiking Red Rock Canyon on a Saturday before the crowds arrive. It's free splash pads tucked inside neighborhood parks. It's the Greek Food Festival every September and watching kids run through the Ethel M cactus lights in December. It's a city that's genuinely great for families — if you know where to look.

We started Valley Family because we were tired of Googling "things to do in Las Vegas with kids" and getting the same tourist lists. We live here. We raise our families here. We know the difference between Henderson and Summerlin, and we love both. This newsletter and website exist to be the resource we wish we'd had — every weekend planned, every hidden gem found, every free splash pad mapped. No tourist nonsense. Just locals helping locals.
